Twins are rare in alpacas. These guys are half brothers from the same father, Elysion Mantovani. Allegro at right is 9 days younger. From his mother, Allegro has inherited great density, lustre and a bold crimp. From his mother, Pavarotti has inherited bright lustre, density and well defined bundles of perfect highly aligned fine soft crimpy fleece. Both boys represent great breeding outcomes. In our first ever entry to the Sydney Royal Easter Show, ADORE was pleased to receive a third place in the junior fleece class for Bohemia. This backs up her second place in the junior white female halter class at last year’s Charles Ledger Show. Here is a sample of Bohemia’s fleece:
We plan to show Bohemia in a few more shows this year including the Australian Nationals before commencing mating this spring. We are excited with the prospects she presents for our future breeding. In the meantime, Bohemia’s half sister is due to provide us a cria tomorrow and was a bit ‘out of sorts’ this evening so we may not have to wait too long.
On Saturday we welcomed our first cria for autumn and the first born under our new ADORE stud name. Young Pavarotti had a rough trot and we are now pleased that he is starting to find the youthful energy of a young cria.
Pavarotti had his head twisted back during labour and had to be delivered by the vet. Not something we have to do often. Fortunately, despite our worst fears, all ended well although it has taken a couple of days for him to recover from the trauma.
Pavarotti is from our Champion Fawn Elsendale Marguerita and sired by our medium grey multi blue ribbon winner Elysion Mantovani. ADORE Pavarotti is already looking the goods: soft, lustrous and pleasing density.

Ambrosia from ADORE is visiting the Hunter Valley Grammar School Christmas Fair at 4:30 pm on 28 November 2014. Bring the children to have their photo taken with her for a gold coin donation to charity.
Fleece results are in with several fleeces at better than 99% comfort factor. Our finest fleece so far is 15.2 micron and several were in the 16 micron range including two exquisite grey fleeces.
The fleece on the left is a light grey second fleece at 16.4u and 99.2% comfort factor with 500+gm in the saddle (skirted). $20 the lot plus postage. Neck included unskirted at no extra cost. Sample available.
The fleece on the right is a dark grey/roan brown first fleece at 16.4u and 99.0% comfort factor with 600gm+ in the saddle (skirted) and over 300gm of very usable fleece in the neck. Fleece tips are sun bleached. Very clean for a first fleece. $35 the lot plus postage. Sample available.

ADORE completed shearing last Saturday 11th October. All our fleeces for this season are now being skirted and samples taken for micron testing.
